CounterMint
Private beta · Opening to 50 dealers

Price the whole lot before the customer sits down.

A walk-in sets a box of raw coins on your counter. CounterMint turns it into an itemized, branded quote on their phone — priced at your margins, backed by real sold comps, and checked against spot every minute. It keeps pricing itself under your rules while they think it over, and they can accept it from anywhere, any time.

Market recommendation

Selling via alternative channels (e.g., online marketplaces) incurs estimated platform fees of 13.25% and insured shipping of $28.50. On this item that is approximately $652.84 in costs, for an estimated net of $4,059.16.

A direct physical counter sale eliminates seller chargeback liability, fraud windows, and return-shipping transit risk, and provides immediate payment.

What CounterMint is

Coin dealer software for dealer-controlled, itemized purchase offers.

CounterMint is coin shop pricing software for the buy side of the counter — the moment somebody walks in with a collection to sell. It organizes an incoming lot line by line, applies the pricing rules you set, shows the market context behind each number, and produces one itemized purchase offer you can hand over and defend.

It is built for professional coin, paper-currency and bullion dealers. Mixed coin lot pricing, bullion buy prices, scrap gold, certified type and raw material all run through the same workflow, at your margins, with a person approving every number.

What it does
Organizes an incoming lot into itemized lines, with photo-assisted intake pre-filling the visible details.
Applies your buy-price rules against current spot context and sold comparable sales.
Issues a branded, itemized purchase offer the customer can review, accept or counter.
What it isn’t
Not a price guide and not a substitute for the references you already trust.
Not a point-of-sale or inventory system — it ends where the sale begins and exports cleanly.
Not an autonomous buyer, and not a grading, authentication or appraisal service.
Who it’s for
Single-location coin shops buying walk-in collections and estate lots.
Multi-location dealers who need the same buy rules applied at every counter.
Bullion and scrap buyers pricing off metal content at volume.

Founding Dealer

First month free. Then half price, for life.

The first 50 shops get their first month free, then lock in half price for as long as they stay. No renewal creep, no “founding pricing has ended” email eighteen months from now.

And the rate is the smaller half of it. Fifty dealers shape what gets built next — you say what’s working, what isn’t, and what’s missing, and it ships without breaking the way your shop already runs. You’re grandfathered in as a Founding Dealer for the life of the subscription.

The way it works now

The paper is where the margin leaks.

The customer waits an hour, often more, while the pile gets worked down with a loupe and a notepad. They leave with a column of abbreviations and a total. Then they do it again at two more shops.

At the kitchen table that night, three sheets of shorthand are supposed to represent a collection. One doesn’t say which number belongs to which piece. One has nothing on it identifying who wrote it. Nothing compares to anything — so they pick the biggest number, or they pick nobody.

Four days later they come back — to the one shop whose name was on the paper. They want nine of the twenty-three, spot has moved, and it all gets priced again by hand while they watch. Then explained, because the number changed. Three hours of skilled work to buy one lot, and two of them produced nothing you can sell.

Meanwhile the customer is driving across town to compare shorthand against shorthand — and the market is moving under all three sheets while they do it. The shop that was highest on Tuesday isn’t by Friday. Often they would have done better taking the first offer, and nobody was in a position to show them that.

None of those hours are necessary. CounterMint prices the lot in minutes instead of hours — every piece itemized, the arithmetic visible, your shop’s name on it — then re-prices itself when spot moves, so the work is never done twice and nobody has to explain why the number changed.

And because yours is the quote they can reopen, compare and accept from the kitchen table, the shop across town has to be worth the drive. Nobody drives an hour back for five dollars. They take the offer that is clear, current, and already in their hand.
